Inside Life: Katsina Governor to meet bandits Criminals at hideouts. Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has directed  Secretary to the State Government, Mr Mustapha Inuwa, to arrange a meeting for him and security chiefs with suspected bandits at their hideouts for dialogue, to ensure peace returned in the state. The Director General on Media and Publicity, Mr Abdu Labaran, made this this known in a statement on Thursday in Katsina. He said that the decision was taken at an extraordinary security meeting, held on Wednesday in Katsina. Labaran said those in attendance were Masari, his deputy, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, Speaker, State House of Assembly, Alhaji Tasiu Musa Maigari and Secretary to the Government of the State, Mustapha Inuwa. Oyo Governor Appoints Oni As Executive Chairman Of State’s Mineral Development Agency Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has appointed an expert in the oil and gas industry, Mr Abiodun Oni, as the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Mineral Development Agency. The appointment was announced in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Taiwo Adisa, on Thursday. Mr. Oni is expected to bring to bear his wealth of experience as a trained geologist with over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and proficiency in Six-Sigma processes and Lean techniques, on the mineral development sector in the state. Oyegun: APC Will Have Issues In 2023 John Oyegun, former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says the ruling party will have issues in 2023 general election. In an  interview with ARISE NEWS  on Friday, he said the issues will arise because President Muhammadu Buhari, on whom the party had tailored its change agenda, will not be qualified to contest. Ekiti Assembly passes new tax bill The Ekiti State House of Assembly on Tuesday, passed a new bill that would guide tax policy and revenue generation. The Speaker, Funminiyi Afuye, who passed the bill through a voice vote, commended the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation for a “good job.” He said,   “Ekiti needs to look inwards at this challenging time and generate more money in view of the dwindling revenues of the Federal Government.” The passage of the tax bill was sequel to that of the Board of Internal Revenue Service Bill 2019 to law by the legislative body. The Assembly, had during its previous plenary, adopted as a working document, the report of the committee on Finance and Appropriation  in respect of the operation of the State Revenue Board.
