Oyo Governor Appoints   Barr. Isiaka Olagunju  as  OYSIEC Chair, other Members. Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, approved the composition of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC). A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, indicated that the Governor, in a letter dated 18 September, 2019, forwarded the names of eight individuals to the House of Assembly, for consideration as chairman and members of the commission. “I wish to inform Your Rt. Honourable and other Honourable Members of the composition of the State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC). The following personalities have been considered suitable, based on their track records, to oversee and conduct elections into the Local Governments in the State,” the letter read in part. UCH Delegates meet Oyo State Govt. for Partnership Arrangements With Local Government on Free Surgery Services across LGAs. The delegation from University College Hospital, (UCH) Ibadan, met with the Commissioner for Local Govt and Chieftancy Matters, Hon. (Mrs.) Funmi Orisadeyi, at the ministry in the state Secretariat today. The UCH delegates led by Dr. Victor Ifeolu Akinmolade stated that, their reason for coming is to seek for state government's approval, over the Free Medical Outreach, the hospital has embarked on. He expressed that, the medical outreach which capture free surgery service for children born with Clept Lip and Palate. Dr. Victor further expressed that the state government approval is considered imperative, as there's arrangement to organize the free surgery services across across the Local Government areas in the State. HON. AKINREMI OLAIDE JAGABAN FLOORS DEMOLA OMOTOSO AT TRIBUNAL. The Member Representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency Federal Constituency at the House of  Representatives, Hon. (Prince) Akinremi Musiliu Olaide , has been affirmed of his victory by the Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Ijaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State. Akinremi was earlier declared the winner of the 2019 election in the last general elections under the umbrella of All Progressives Congress (APC). His seat, the tribunal ruled on Saturday 7th September 2019, is to be taken over by his opponent and petitioner, Mr Demola Omotosho of the Peoples democratic Party (Pdp) . Demola Omotosho had urged the tribunal to declare him as the rightful winner of the 23rd February 2019 National Assembly Election in the constituency, arguing that the exercise was marred by electoral irregularities.
